She's in bad shape...

I finally got my 03 up to the dealer to have it looked at... all sorts of stuff wrong, but it's all getting fixed under my extended warranty... that thing just pretty much paid for itself.

Anyway, the service tech made a few recommendations, and I wanted to get some input.

They suggested I replace my battery - any good deals out there? Is Optima still the best?

The belts on the car need to be replaced, and he said it would be something like $350 to do that, however the belts seem to be $34.18 at infinitipartsusa.com. Is there that much labor involved?

He also said something about replacing my fuel injectors... can't I just run some BG44k through the car?

Let me know what you all think about that stuff... he recommended about $1500 in service and I'm not really wanting to drop that, especially since (don't get mad...) I'm thinking about getting rid of the car this summer... only because I'm 150 mi from a dealer and it's a nightmare to get work done.

Why injectors? I would run some BG44K through it a couple of times and even perform the BG rail flush on it first. Send them on the fuel rails to Deatsch if that doesn't do it.

I couldn't tell you why they wanted to replace them, my car has just over 67k miles, and seemed to be running fine. I do need to run some BG through it, but I thought those injectors were supposed to last 100k miles.

I just spoke to the service manager and apparently they have yet to receive 2 of the parts they ordered... I'm supposed to leave for Wisconsin tomorrow morning for business (that's a 7 hour drive from here) and I'm getting a little frustrated. I hope this isn't one of those "well your parts *would* have arrived if you'd let us do all that stuff we suggested." They're getting the benefit of the doubt right now though.
