She runs

Hitting a family of deer, concrete, plastic, steel, all at highway speeds... nothing stops the Q

Still needs some engine work, body still is trash and needs metalwork and paint, seats are trashed, but the interior is cleaning up pretty nice... I have a grin on my face and it wont leave, the car started up first try and quickly settled to a nice 650 RPM purr, tonight was just a flight test to see if the coolant issues were fixed, and the new KS were working, she didn't have a problem at 120 (not an unusual speed for her anyways - and yes it was a private road) and after 15 minutes of driving did not overheat so im going to call it solved if the fluid levels are still full in the morning when I check it

Pictures of her current status (will be up when I wake up, sleeping til noon today ), the body is ugly but its all 'new' to the car. Kinda sad seeing all the mismatched and horribly taken care of bodyparts but hell, that will all change in time

I have a pretty good list of things to do still, and its 100% DIY (if I mess it up, i can always take it to a professional - yes I think im becoming a fanatic)minor engine workbodywork (MAJOR)paintreupholster seats and redo padding fix that damn glovebox, sadly its well beyond the ace hardware fix

I am thinking of moving to a blog type setup on the cars repairs, I have spent so many days, or weeks, or even months of time working on her now, learned plenty of tricks and want to try a few things I have not seen done to a Q yet. I really would have loved a how-to seat repair, but since not many (or any?) others have done it DIY maybe its just the article for me to write

Oh well more on this subject when I wake up, let me end it like this

Thanks, this is a NICO success story. Through the power of search, Email, and phone calls you have guided me to a complete rebuild on a car everybody else 'knew' was headed for the junkyard. Couldn't have done it without you guys, know that I really do appreciate it

It takes some commitment to keep an old Q on the road, and the cars deserve it.
