The ka-t sohc is alive with only 800 dollars!!! Just started it and took it on it's first drive. The idle is a little rough and when i went out the first time i popped off a coupler and she died. Got that fixed and went out again and at 1/2 to 2/3'ds throttle it felt faster than an Srt-4!! Im happy already, but it dies after letting off after high rpm's. Probably cuz it only has a downpipe. I was wondering why the idle is rough though. And i don't have my wastegate hooked up yet, But so far it's a good start. 89 240 Coupe Stock Ka24E (130k)

Homemade exhaust manifold xspower t3 (ball-bearing) 35mm wastegate (6lb spring) Manual boost controller 8:1 OBX fmu E-bay aluminum piping 31"/12"/3" intercooler RFL BOV

(i try to post pics but i can't in Ka-t forum for some reason)

Thanx to everyone on this site for the help getting me this far!!!

Maybe once i start making more money i can upgrade to some Quality parts

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR EVER AGAIN UNTIL YOU FIX THIS.

Of course your car felt fast, you are running whatever boost the turbo can push! On stock injectors!

C'mon man

hook that damn wastegate up for gods sake...your gonna blow your motor..run 6lbs and you will be ok on stock injectors...fmu only? id upgrade that fuel pump..it wont flow enough sooner or later. it dies in high rpms cause your blow off valve isnt hooked back into the maf route..ever see a stock dsm route there bov back into the intake pipe?...you need to do that....once you do that you will be fine.

Also I believe you can take the top port off and run on spring pressure only.

With a manual boost controller you don't use the top port at all, just the side one. There is no solenoid. Just a bleeder...so install the manula BC inline between the fitting on the side of the WG and the vacuum source for the BC itself.

Make sense???

WOW, just what i was lookin for, thanx for the help. But i still have a super sloppy idle, but is that because of the exhaust not being hooked up? Also for my OBX fmu, does the vaccum port on the top run boost pressure or vaccum off the manifold?
