We cranked her up this afternoon and everything is great. Runs no problems. Next weekend we are going to hopefully do a fuel pump, fix us up an intake, boost gauge and a manual boost controller.

Car feels really quick after 5k rpms, but she couldn't handle my car on the highway. The GTI 337 kept taking it to 'er.;) ;) ;)

I just say that cause I know my friend is reading this and I'm just giving him a hard time. Won't be long before I finally get too see what the back of his car looks like. :D

Anyway, the 240 is awesome, hopefully I will get my personal car underway in the next year or so. I'll have to post pics of the finished product later, I accidently left the digi cam at the shop.

no, it was a project me and two other guys are doing, but the title does not reside in my hands. But won't be too far behind, just found a coupe for $100!

He has that problem as well, but only in fourth and fifth gear. He said when we were on the highway last night the car would cut out after about 4,500rpms. So probably the same thing. He thinks that the stock fuel pump is not providing enough fuel and the computer is rev limiting it for safety. We are putting in a Wahlbro fuel pump in next week, so I will let you know if that fixes it.

I have a walbro too.... didn't change a thing.

My 2 day old plugs are STUPID black now. The car has got to be overfuelling for some reason or another.

wow, so I thought the motor was supposed to have a redline of 8k rpms. What is the thinking on why it is cutting off early?

it redlines at 7500 iirc..... but fuel shut off is a safety feature from going KABOOM.

Recheck the transmission plugs. Theres a limiter for 4th and 5th gear at 4500 rpms. If the switch goes bad, you will have a new redline of 4500. Just unplug them. All you need is the reverse and speed sensor connected.

what's the problem? is there worries the motor won't hold together? is this an issue with everyone's car that the motor cuts out at 4500rpms in the higher gears?if there is an issue please tell, this is important info I need to pass on, because I am not driving the car on a daily bases.

The CA's are close to 15 years old. The stock turbos will go out on you right away :( Plus the motor has problems with rod bearings as it gets up into the higher mileage.

The speed limiter thing has to do with either the transmission sensors or ecu is cutting back for some other reason.

There no reason at all to take the motor to 8000 rpms on a stock turbo and nothing else. There is no power after 7000 on the stock pos turbo. A freshly rebuilt motor and a nice sized turbo is a diffrent story :D
