My KA-T actually started up for real today!! Let me tell you she runs like total crap with bad timing, too much fuel, etc etc etc, but its mostly software fix stuff with the AEM now!

Thanks so much to Ivan at Phat KA-T for helping me out though all these ignition problems. I was there for quite some time, bent over the engine with the phone in one hand and a multimeter in the other-- and really, I appreciate the help big time! Turns out I had to bypass the MSD box completely, as I couldnt get it to stop overheating my coil. Still dont know whats up with that but hey she starts and idles(ish)! Oil pressure is in the green, no huge leaks that I can see so far... all she does is idle like crap for a litle while and dies, but this is definetly a BIG hurdle jumped!

Couple pics:

new hotness ignition setup:

like all the wires hanging around? I was thinking of just leaving it like that, watcha think?

danger to manifold pic:

Next step: get a good idle, wait for the snow to melt, and take this beyotch to the damn dyno!!

omg thats a CRT in your passengers seat. who let it in there? is it portable? where can I get one?

LOL congrats on the running of the engine, you're kickin some *** patience wise. hope everythign else gets sorted out quick enough.if i get my car runing during spring break, we can break them in together!

did you end up fixing the coil or getting a new one? what was the stuff inside it? was it vegetable oil or coors light?

btw we're getting 4-8 inches of snow tonite... guess who's driving the bus til 9:30? can you say "drift box"?

Are you using a rough guess on the AEM, or the tune that came with the AEM for startup? Just curious since I am learning along with you.

Congrats...kinda. I'm pretty sure you'll figure out all the little quarks and hopefully your KA-T will be up and running good in not time.
