ok my setup is an 89 coupe ka24e with a t3 to4e stock mass at the moment dsm 450s open 3 inch dp intercooled, everything seems good but its flooding out rich as hell. i am going to try to get the afc wired in here in a while , any tips on getting the piece to idle would be great. whenever i try to rev the car it tries to stall and when it stalls i can smell raw fuel from the downpipe. soon as it idles im throwing the z32 mass and exhaust on and tuning it.

so what are you using to control the fuel? FMU? or just flowing out the 450's free? if your not using anything to control fuel thats why your so damn rich

A FMU increases fuel pressure....it's not a management unit at all, it's simply a rising rate fuel pressure regulator.

You can't install larger injectors and not having anything to tune them with. Your car simpy won't run. If you continue to run your car like this you'll wash all the oil off the piston walls and ruin your motor. You should seriously read about turbo charging your motor before you end up ruining somthing.

ok i understand how dangerous the running rich situation is and what it can do, i just need to know what kind of fpr to use on it, nobody really mentioned an fpr for the ka24e. if it is possible to tune on the afc with the stock fpr that is what i will do but everyone in this town is stupid so i have to get my info on here.

and just so you all know i havent been running the car or trying to drive it. i simply started it a few times to make sure it would start and now i am getting the fuel flow more ideal befre i think about driving it.

those DSM injectors are low impedence as well, do you have resistors on them?

yeah , i have a honda crx resistor box and it works pretty pimp. i installed the afc and z32 mass yesterday and the thing runs really well, without the afc it runs good but the afc needs tuned. still a little rich with a black puff when you punch it and stight lope and eratic idle . it should be fine once i get the afc dialed in a little more.
