Hot, but I was talking about shaving the head to increase the compression ratio of an SR20DE (N/A).

The FSM has this info. Its under head resurfacing or something like that, there is a limit posted.
Thats not really a great way to raise compression. The reasons heads can be 'shaved' in the first place is so that if you ever warp them, they can be resurfaced and still good. Shaving it would take away your ability to do that.
Just put some new rings in it and call it a day.
