Hey, I am about to shave the rear sidemarkers on my 91 F/B and was wondering if you can still pass inspection if they've been shaved.. or if their even legal for that matter.. thanks, dre

I actually think shave'n the rear side markers is illegal.Becuz if the front side markers must emmit amber, than completely remove'n the rear must be too.

I glanced around on the NJ MVC site, but didn't see anything. Try a deeper search of their site or send and email asking for a copy of the inspection checklist.

I think its part of standardized DOT regs for lighting on US-spec cars.

Its probaly not heavily enforced but still...

Now there's a man with a plan. IIRC, there's no "re-inspection" in NJ, just emissions and I doubt they'd ever notice. My brother actually had away to get "waived around" on the (dyno style) emissions check, but that involved a radical airbag suspension and scraping the pavement :D.

1968 DOT includes side marker lamp requirement. Been the same ever since.
