I'm sure its an adhesive, don't hold me to that though. I know a few people on here have removed the "Versa" or the emblem. Someone will get to you with an answer in no time!

Yes all of them are held on with double sided tape on the back of the hatch I just removed all of them the other day with dental floss.

It comes off pretty easily with some bug and tar remover or some 3M Adhesive Remover. Warming it up with a hair dryer can help, just work your way through with some dental floss, mint or flavorless will both work fine. The front badge, however, is attached with tabs, not adhesive.

I wouldn't use goo gone. it can be really abrasive and can probably mess up your paint. a buddy of mine used the brick style pencil eraser to rub off any excess adhesive. His looks great and you can't tell anything was ever there. Rule of thumb, don't put anything that smells like it's flammable on your paint.

Oh yeah, and a hair dryer to soften the adhesive like Jemdawg said

my favorite adhesive remover would be (dun, dun dun!!) UnDu!

You can find it in the scrapbook aisle! It is made for stickers and paper, it slicks the adhesive and after the UnDu dries, you can reuse it!

Works great on removing Nissan decals/emblems off of Vs!

i dont know if there is a difference in the adhesive between production years, but i had a REALLY difficult time getting my VERSA badge off.

First I used goo gone and fishing line as stated in one of the tutorials. The fishing line basically cut through the adhesive tape, leaving a residue/tape about a 1/2 mm thick at some points. Because it was adhesive tape, and not just adhesive, it had a foam consistency to it which made it difficult for the goo gone to break down.

I then tried auto Bug & Tar remover. no go.

I then tried "Goof Off" after testing a small area of paint on my moms car (its a piece of crap dodge neon). No good, once again.

at this point its dark, and the light in my garage is messed up so I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to try using my hair dryer on a low heat setting. I've heard that high heat can discolor the paint.

Hopefully it works. I didn't "scratch" the paint, but it looks like i might have put a few little swirls on it from rubbing - though its hard to avoid that on a black paint job.

mheh - id like to find a better method before I remove the NISSAN badge on the rear hatch as well.

oh crap!! That sucks!

After removing these emblems two times... I can surely say that if you are careful and patient, you can remove and reuse the emblems...

How do you think you dented it? Did you put to much pressure on the letters??

bummer.

i just found this stuff at walmart thats basically like goo gone but for cars. it says it removes any adhesive like from stickers and decals and is safe for all sorts of surfaces including exterior auto paint.

i already removed my VERSA, the NISSAN badge is next - i'll let you all know how it goes.

blind_snyper - for future ref. just use fishing line to slide between the letters and the body of the car - no dents!!

hmmm... I pried, and had no problems... what a bummer...

Of course, I also tried the fishing line and proved to be challenged in that area (read as: it really didn't work out... when I used the tool, I got the letter and adhesive off in one bit so they were reusable - even though I didn't opt to reuse the foam either time... but that's another story...)

anywho... basically, whatever works for you... the fishing line and I aren't mentally compatible ;oD
