hey guys i recently shaved my head since it warped slightly. Now when i got the timing cover put back on it sat to high so i cut the head gasket on the front cover and siliconed it so it doesn't leak now it sat evenlt and my distributor sits in good(before it wouldn't go in) now would this screw up my timing? A timing light was used to set it right but once it was set it started to stall and had to give it gas but i remembered the pcv hose to the valve wasn't connected so that might make die fast, but even after that with all of the shaving and stuff affect my timing as my car not acting wierd in the feature?? i don' t want to be battling my car in the feature at the stoplight, keeping it from stalling. Another Q how much would the compression raise from stock from shaving the head. I had it shaved about 12 thousands of an inch i could have sworn nissan says the maxium is 13? or no?

no. Your timing will nor be effected by the shaved head. The compression shouldn't go up too much. At least not enough to make your car run crappy. check all your vac lines. Cheack cam timing.

p.s. it's "future" not feature.

i knew i has some spelling errors. Do you know the maxium you can shave without slamming the valves into the pistion i had about.012 taken off. i hand rotated the cams and heard nothing hit so i guess i'm good or would the rods stretch during load and then ka-boom goes my valves?

If your rods stretch you have more serious problems than worring about hitting a valve.

Well, they won't "stretch" but they do move a tad on the top of their stroke. There is a clearance in the rod journals thats all. we're talking less than a thousanth of an inch. Not going to make a difference.
