Busy weekend. Ran the wiring to finally hook up my amp and subwoofer. Removed the rear speakers, which really, REALLY helped not only the volume, but the clarity of the subwoofer.

Had my front bumper shaved and smoothed. No more front license plate. Swapped my stock trunk for a 98 trunk with the OEM spoiler. The only issue left with the trunk swap is figuring out how to wire the bulbs in the red lenses of the trunk lights. Everything else works as it should though. The car looks a lot cleaner, classier now.

I had to replace my front bumper about 5 years ago and did away with the spot for the front plate...I live in CA so technically I am breaking the law, but knock on wood I haven't even had an issue without any car using a front plate in 35 years of driving here.

So you don't even have rear speakers or did you just replace them with something else? I like the sub idea but our trunks are so small to begin with not sure about that.

I think the 2nd Gen without the rear spoiler is just missing something!

I removed the speakers on the rear deck. They only play the bass frequencies as is. And, well, they can't even come close to competing with a 12" subwoofer with 900 watts behind it. Granted, said 12" subwoofer does eat up a little bit of trunk space.

The subwoofer is a Dayton Audio H.0. Series.

Also, I have a chrome antenna base and nut to swap onto the car. Does anybody know what size antenna socket is required to take off the nut? Socket has 4 prongs that lock into the indents on the nut...

I never knew that in 10 years of ownershp.............well I have put off any stereo work, I was going to do a GPS if I started to commute again, but got another work from home gig so keep pushing the old Bose/clarrion crap.

BTW, what is all that white stuff around your car? Snow and Q's just doesn't commute for me :)

LOL. I remember the first and only time I tried to drive my '95 Q with any significant snow around. My driveway slopes ever so slightly from side to side. I backed up about 10 feet and the beast slid sideways into the front yard. Brand new all weather tires on it, too. I hung onto the old Cherokee banger I was planning on selling, until I got rid of the Q. Still miss that car.

Snow tires are my Q45's absolute best friend. Knock on wood, but have yet to get stuck so far this winter.

Also, does anybody know the socket size to remove the antenna mast nut?
