if you guys checked out this http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....64043 you know i'm in the process of doing my clutch. well anyways after i took out my old one i found that one side (the side that connects to the flywheel) was fine, while the other side(the one that connects to the pressure plate) was messed up, and shattered and there were little clutch material pieces everywhere. So my question is how does something like this happen? i mean i tried to do a little drifting, but now too much, but i also have no idea how much miles the clutch had on it? then what is the other side, where the clutch connects to the pressure plate for? i mean i thought it only engaged and disengaged at the flywheel, not the pressure plate. Thnx guys so much, many of you were of extreme help.

the pressure plate applies pressure to the clutch so it holds into gear. its part of whats pushing back when you push the pedal.
