Yes...very. It made no sense...I just watched an episode of Punk'd with her in it...I assumed it was recent. And I haven't heard anything on the news about ti. What the hell...???My question is...were there "X"s in some places for everyone, or just me? (Culd have been the damn adult filter on the computers here at work).

Ahhhh....My intelligent coworker just informed me that celebrities have obituaries pre-written for their deaths. Then the news people fill in the dates (the X's) and add any new relevant info before releasing it. This is likely a leak of such a thing. Or it otherwise made its way to the net without being intended to.

It just talked about her life's accomplishments. Then, abruptly, it ended with something like: Sharon is succeeded by her husband and loving children.

The title was something like: Sharon Osborne XX of XX. Hence the references to X's in my previous post.

Man, they cleaned that up quick!

The AP accidentally had a story last week announcing a Bush victory. It was a test story distributed to some media outlets by mistake. The ones that used automated systems to pick up headlines from the wires didn't mark the AP story as a regular test, so it left some folks confused over how Bush could win the election a month early.

Damn....that's funny. I'll assume they've got obituaries all ready for Bush and Kerry, then. I wonder what they say...

The only reason media outlets practice this sort of thing is because of the internet. The constant clamour for the first story or the first person to break a story is amazing on the Net.
