Had a local tint shop wrap it with gloss black vinyl, knowing it'd likely get scratched and need to be rewrapped at some point.

Looks great. You do the polish and wax yourself? If so, what did you use?

I almost always wash it myself. It will seem more trouble than it seems from how much I'm writing, but it's pretty simple. Once you establish putting the polish on, it will last 4-6 months depending upon weather, etc. So this is only needed a couple times a year.

I had a 2011 M37S for almost two years. I got into the habit of running it through automatic washes sometimes, and it really scratched the headlights. Both headlights I had professionally polished to remove the scratches, but they were never like new.

So when I bought my 2013 M56xS I decided I would never run it through those automatic washes again. They aren't great for the paint anyway.

I started using Zaino Bros. polish when i first bought my 2003 G35 coupe brand new in 2003. I swear by it.

to save you some reading and time, you can buy all sorts of products. But I would recommend buying:
- Z-5 Pro show car polish for swirl marks and fine scratches
- Z-2 Pro show car polish for clear coated cars
- ZFX flash cure accelerator additive (added to the polish so it dries faster and can be removed almost as fast as it is applied)
- buy a few of their "custom polish applicator" pads

You can buy a few other products they offer, but to get started and see if you like it, the above does the trick.

Without seeming like too much, i would recommend the following. I've been using it for years and read all about tips and such.
1 - hand wash your car using water and dish detergent (Dawn or similar) this strips off a lot of impurities and such from the paint. You'll feel the paint afterwards feeling very squeaky... meaning not silky smooth if you run your finger across it.
2 - If you are really wanting to do a deep clean, you can clay bar and such. But it's only if you are really into making your car a show car.
3 - Apply the Z-5 first, do a coat and let dry (it'll need to dry overnight unless you buy and use the accelerator) and then remove, Z-5 supposedly fills any tiny scratches and minimizes swirl marks
4 - Apply the Z-2 last as a top coat, it has a higher gloss content (Zaino says apply multiple coats)

Check them out.

Thanks. I had a local tint shop wrap it with gloss black vinyl. Then I worked with one of their install guys to simply measure and line up. It's simply screwed into the bottom of the Aero kit front bumper. It can unscrew in 5 minutes. I didn't need to predrill holes or cut anything from the generic splitter I bought from ebay. Just screwed right through it. I've had it about a year and no issues.
