So today I finished installing my new tension rods and took my s14 for a spin. When i hit about 70 mph and over, the steering wheel was pretty shaky. Anybody know what might be the problem? Tires not balanced?

sounds like tire balance issues.

Thanks adrians_s13.

I'll probably take care of balancing my tires this Friday at the auto hobby.

Then we'll see if that fixes the problem. I think it will. The only other problem I could think of is that my wheels are bent, which seems very unlikely.

well, hopefully when you get your tires balanced, the guy will tell you if theres a bend in any of the wheels.

also... if your tires a pretty worn out or has flat spots... theres really not much they can do to balance it. At that point, you might just need new tires.

well my tires are pretty new so i don't think i need new ones.

out of curiousity, could unbalanced 'rear' tires cause shakiness in the steering wheel?

steering seems more dependent of the front right?
