Okay I made a post about this a couple of months ago...but my problem came back. I did everything; balance the tires and got an alignment. However, driving today to work, my steering wheel goes crazy at +40 mph. As I go faster the steering wheel shakes even more crazier.

Could it be my rack and pinion?

edit: Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum section.

nvm, I figured out the problem.

Last night I installed 20 mm wheel spacers. I assumed the spacers wouldn't change the wheel alignment. However, extending the wheel out caused the tires to change camber/toe. (duh)

When I get my new shocks & springs, I'll slap the spacers back on and get the car aligned.

p.s. even though the steering wheel was hella shaky and it felt like my wheels were going to come off, the car looked awesome with the wheels flushed to the fender. Haha.

They are bolt on spacers right? Slip ons will cause problems.

Yea Slappy, they are bolt-on spacers. I didn't want to risk the slip ons.

maybe this is a stupid question, but I thought wheel spacers went over the lugs, sandwiched between the wheel and the brake rotor, how exactly can there be a config for that to be "slip on" as opposed to bolt on?

Well there two types of wheel spacers.

1. Spacers that slide onto your factory studs or longer aftermarket studs to compensate for more offset.2. Then there are spacers that bolt on to your factory rotors and have lugs pressed into the spacers itself. So instead of bolting your wheel to the existing studs, you are bolting your wheel to the studs of the wheel spacers. These are also referred to wheel spacer adapters.
