shaking when starting

My car starts shaking about every other time I start it. It goes away if I rev the engine. After it stops shaking, the car runs fine the rest of the time. It was doing this 2 months ago, then stopped after I got new spark plugs, and now it's starting again. I was wondering if anybody knew off the top of their head what this could be. Thanks.

What RPM is the car idling when it starts shaking?

my car's RPMs always vary. but usually when i first start it, its about 500 when its idling. the RPMs are no different if its shaking when it starts, or not shaking.

Sounds like the idle needs to be adjusted. It should idle higher than 500. More around 750-800 range. This on the 02 sentra?

yep 02 sentra. and today it actually idled at 0. but thats never been abnormal for my car. it has idled between 0 and 500 since i got it. but is that why its shaking??? thank you

That is part of the reason it is shaking, but you must have a vacuum leak or something is off. TPS or MAF.

I had the same problem, is it like a weird vibration just when the starter is engaged and the motor is nice and still warm??

I never thought of that....thanks!!! I might check that out - whats a good spot to pick up aftermarket mounts and how much labour would be involved (sorry for all the questions)
