hello there,
recently i got my front tie rods (inner/outer), lower ball joints, and front drivers side strut replaced, along with an alignment. So when i drive, and get up to about 45 mph, the car begins to shake very violently. So i keep her below 45, as often as possible, does anybody have an idea as to what causes this shaking?
for the record, i am a noob, this is my first s13 (91 coupe)
all help is greatly appreciated.
- Paul

Thank you sir
I also noticed that one of my rims is bent, the front right one. So what i'm gonna do is order another one,as well as get new tires (they're much needed) and hopefully that'll take care of the situation. I appreciate the help.
Also, while i drive, my friends driving next to me have noticed that my drivers side front wheel shakes too, is this due to the tires as well?

I am sure the place that installs your tires will check your tie rod end, bearings, and ball joints for any play. Possible you have a worn part.

Thank you,
That raises concern because i just changes the inner/outer tie rods, lower ball joints and that strut. I hope all is well :/

most likely your tire balance.also another possibility is rack bushings. mine were trash and i shook a little around 55 60. bought energy suspension from enjuku for 15 and there urethane which is way better then 22 year old rubber that is probably deteriorated to crumbs.

right on;
Being as that i've done primarily suspension work on my car, and got aftermarket parts as opposed to oem obviously; I'm gonna take the route of perfecting that first. if i have enough money i'll be able to grab some coilovers on black friday :) and by next summer i plan on getting a 1.5 way LSD!

okay- so i got my car realigned and she runs so much better. when i hit bumps it doesn't feel like she's about to kick out, in the rain when i slide theres a day and night difference. however, at about 45 mph its starting to shake again; after i got my tires put on there was absolutely no shake. but i think because it's realigned the tires may need to be balanced again? any thoughts? btw- i also bought steering rack bushings haven't put em in yet

Its possible you lost a weight. Most shops will rebalance within so many days after your install.

I similar problem in a 1996 240sx SE I recently purchased. I had a vibration start at about 45 and smoothed out some at about 60. The problem was a combination of a worn transmission mount, worn u-joints and a bad transmission carrier bearing. To save money and add a little to performance. I replaced the transmission mount with a Megan transmission mount (more substantial and about $80 less than OEM). Since the driveshaft on my S14 had non serviceable U-joints, I replaced it with a Shaftmasters one piece aluminum drive shaft. It saved me $300 over an OEM replacement driveshaft and carrier bearing and it weighs 9 lbs less. Vibration went away and it seems to accelerate a little better with less unsprung driveshaft weight and one less u-joint.

I just re-read your first post. Are you feeling it in your seat or the steering wheel?

sorry for the super delayed response- didn't see it.
but i remember the steering wheel would shake and the the body as well. ultimately i had bad alignment from the place i got it done at. my rear drivers side wheel had -3 degrees of camber and the other one had like -.03?? and the toe was off as well. so i had htem realign it and watched em. everything is set to stock spec..for now :)
