Hey guys, I have a 93 vert and lately my wife has been complaining of a high pitched whine that occurs when she's in a lower speed (less than 30mph). I know the suspension is startng to go bad, but I'm thinking it might be a belt somewhere.

also she has a "60-65mph massage funtion" : a severe shaking that only happens at those speeds. Part of why I think it might be the suspension.

I'm just looking for any ideas before I take it to the shop so I dont get rooked. I know jack all about cars and some of the less scrupulous mechanics somehow sense this.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Sounds like belt to me too. Press each belt in the engine room and see if anyone of them feels loose. You can tighten them by giving a bolt a few turns. Do not over tighten them though. Based on my experience, belt squeals on rainy or humid day, in the morning when it's cool or at certain speed.

Sounds more like tire balance. I had exact same problem and tire balance fixed it. When was the last time balance was done?

Hope this helps...

The adjustment for the top belt is easy; I just tightened mine today because of the same problem. It's a 14mm bolt that you turn clockwise to increase the tention. It's located on the driver's side right next to the altenator.

Also check your power steering fluid and make sure it's topped off.

Good luck.
