Hey Folks, I could use some help.

My '93 S13 was in an accident last year; I've repaired the damage to the suspension and the rear driver's side quarter panel.

I believe however that something is up, and it could possibly be my drive train.

When revving the engine to the 3000 - 3500 RPM Mark (Regardless of whether I'm parked or rolling), The Driver's Side Rear Wheel Begins to give what I can describe as a shake or bounce; however below 3000 or above 3500 it goes away.

I've gone through hell making sure the mechanics down here in Florida repair the old girl properly and I've had to do many repairs myself.

Any thoughts or Ideas on the root of this problem would help me a lot; It would go a long way getting my 240SX back to how it was.

Thanks...

It could be a drive shaft issue. Make sure that the drive shaft is balanced properly.

Drive shaft or out of balance rim maybe. You could try swapping the axles from side to side and see if you move the vibration and while your at it put that one wheel on the front just in case thats the problem. Good luck

driveshaft may be out of balance. while you're under check your all your bushings/mounts and make sure nothing is loose, check that the u joints on the driveshaft are good as well.

You said even if the car is in park, that means the car is standing still?

That makes no sense, what speed does this occur?you said park so I assume this is automatic?Does this happen in a strait line or in a turn? were was the car damaged in the accident?

Shock, springs, axles and bushings:1. check to see if your shock is weak or bad2. A drive axle will be a lot more violent, especially on a 240sx.because the rear diff is stationary the vibration would shake the whole car.3. rear drive axles man that would be amazing I have seen 300,000 on a pair and they were still good.

The Tire & wheel:1. If the tire bounces or shakes at a certain speed try balancing it, 2. If this has been done, Is the rim bent or dented in any way?a bent or dented wheel will balance but that does not mean it will go down the road just fine.4. If it still bounces take it to a different place like sears ask them to check to see if the tires are out of balance, the other shop may have made a error.

Good luck.

uhh, yeah...pretty much all of these ideas are things which would require the vehicle to be moving to occur...the only thing I can even give a guess that might shake while parked that coincides with certain engine rpm's would be the exhaust (towards the back of the car anyway).....maybe a hanger gone bad allowing the pipe to move excessively that cuases that sort of feeling inside the car....

If his engine is running so bad that his exhaust is shaking enough to bounce the tire, he may want to get a exorcism for his car.
