Damn, that's kinda sh|tty. Especially if it was someone on the forums here selling it.

Ok, now for my worthless suggestions...! LoL

First off, what kind of turbo is that? From what I know, the non-ballbearing turbos have a little bit more shaft play than the ballbearing brothers.

And another thing. Depending on what kind of turbo it is, the oil pressure being supplied to the turbo will tighten it up while it's spinning. Kinda like the void of space between your bearings and your crank when the engine isn't running. It fills with oil, and is supported by the thin layer of oil that is pressurized in there.

Hopefully someone can make heads or tails of this. I'm just trying to provide what little information I 'know' and have 'heard'. Someone else can chime in and straighten it all out.. LoL

i thought about that too, the oil centering it in the bearings, which im sure is why people say that a little axial play is ok...but this is not a little lol. i can hear some of the compressor blades touch the compressor housing..

plus the ad said 'absolutely no shaft play' so even if it was minimal play, i would still be pissed.

im requesting money back from the seller in the amount of a rebuild kit to bring the turbo back to his advertised specs

edit: the turbo also only has 2 of the 3 brackets that hold the compressor housing on..ugh
