I bought a G35 Sedan a couple of years ago, under the guise of it being a "Certified Pre-Owned." The first bullet on their promotional material says they look at vehicle history reports.

Today I found out the car was in an accident before I bought it. Not a salvage, but there is an accident on the title history.
Wait, what's going on here?

Does Infiniti allow cars with negative histories be sold as "Certified Pre Owned?"
Did this dealership break the rules and sell a CPO car with the accident history?

Thanks.

CPO simply means that it can have no more than 2 or 3 body panels that had to be repainted, if I recall correctly. They cant have "structural damage" to the frame and can't have certain parts replaced due to accidents. Other than that, it may have just been paint and minor things.
