Hello guys I thought I'd share my little build with you guys. I've had my s14 for about 5 years now and have had several times
when I felt like selling it. I finally made up my mind and decided to keep it. It's a 1995 SE model that came automatic. I did a
manual swap myself shortly after I got the car. Started getting upgrades here and there. blah blah blah not much of a typer so
i'm just going to post up pictures and go from there...

How it looked when I got it...
Image
Image

Basic KA with Auto Transmission behind it
Image

Got some R33 Skyline Brakes
Image
Image

Little shot of the interior
Image

Installed new Godspeed Coilovers
Image

Got the inner and outer tie rods from Wicked Tuning. Amazingly awesome! the have the spacer already machined into them.
I added an extra tein spacer and modified my spindles for extra angle
Image

Took the engine apart and rebuilt it
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Re-did wiring and tucked it
Image

Initially on going KA-T but decided to keep it NA

Job finished

So I've been running this set up a while now and realized I need more power. Had a fee wheel changes and lots of street drifting (shhh)
Image

Image

Changed wheels again and got me a oem front lip & Navan sideskirts
Image

And now currently 4/2013 I got this crazy idea to throw in a 1uzfe motor from a 1992 LS400. Purchased the motor
with harness and ECU for $260! My plans are to run my KA transmission and later upgrade to a 350z transmission. Thanks to
Brett Collins at Collinsadaptors.com this will be possible. Here's what I got done so far...

When I found her
Image

Took her out and brought her home
Image

Started breaking her down and get her cleaned up and ready for a rebuild
Image
Image

Hey look there I am lol
Image
Image

Got new Oil Pump, Water Pump
Image
Image

New Rings for the Pistons
Image
Image

Unfortunately I can't find the pictures of the Crank and Rod Bearings install but I got those in there (ACL Race Series Bearings)

Got the the Valve Covers Wrinkle Coated in Red (my S14 patiently waiting in the back)
Image

How she currently stands as of 4/3/13
**Update**

Got my kit from Brett so now I can start some work.
Image

Installed! One thing though about this kit is that you need to replace the starter bolts because the bolt heads hit the adapter plate.
Image

She's ready!
Image
Image

In the beast goes...
Here's a little update...

I said screw $100 for egr plates so I made my own haha. Not the best looking ones but they do the job.
Image
Image

Got the KA transmission bolten up.
Image

And in she goes for good this time after the 8th time.
Image
Image

Clearance for exhaust manifolds not so bad but I did have to Frankenstein the Driver side due to it hitting the Steering Shaft. It looks like crap but I'll get myself some Tundra headers later on and do it better.
Image
Image
Little Teaser of how she sits currently

Image

Not much left to do...
-Driveshaft shortened 1-5/8"
-Finish Wiring
-Install Electric Fan Kit
-Install Intake Kit (K&N)
-Add Oil to Transmission
-Install Shifter
-Order Sway Bar Spacers from here Nissan :: 240SX :: LSx Swap Parts :: 240sx Sway Bar Spacers - DAFT INNOVATIONS - ONLINE SHOPPING CART

And that's pretty much it. Stay Tuned for more updates and thanks for the support.

So she's awake! I have no exhaust right now just open header and also MAF wasn't connected which is why it sounds off. She started right up that's all I was concerned about. I only have a few more things left and she's off to the muffler shop.

Some pictures of my transmission hole. I gotta notch it back a little to install my shifter properly or get a 1 piece short shifter.
Image
Image

Yesterday's picture... Mounted fans on the radiator and put car back up on jackstands. I ended getting a 1 piece driveshaft that should be ready today. I'll be able to move the car under it's own power finally! Stay tuned for more updates. I'll post pictures up of wiring once it's all finalized. Also I keep blowing the fuse for the starter switch I believe it is. It calls for a 7.5 amp fuse so I threw in a 15 amp. Let's see how that holds up.

You make it sound like it drops right in, like people have more trouble with RB's.... what was your total cost (so far)? And what special things have you needed or needed to modify? Is this common and I just haven't seen it? Are these motors usually pretty cheap like that?

Cause it sounds like, considering the deal you got it, you spent less than the price of a haggared SR, for considerably more power. (and probably less haggared-ness, as I just read that these came auto-only, or something)

There's a link in between these pictures somewhere for the first start up. Sounds off because the MAF wasn't connected and all my vacuum wasn't plugged. I got all that sorted it out now so it sounds cherry!
Why I went with this transplant? Cost of these engine is very inexpensive, Forged internals, engine weighs about 390lbs (KA 371lbs not that much different), reliable. I happened to find a kit from swap1uz.com that allows you to mate a ka, 350z, and 370z transmission. I rebuilt this motor so i've spent more than expected. You would spend about the same amount of money an SR would cost for more power and torque. engine goes in and out so easily. Clearance is great other than having to modify the driver side exhaust manifold. This swap is easy... I just don't have all the time in the world because I work during the day and only get to work on it on the weekends or else i'd be done already. I'm expecting it to move this weekend around the block then off to the exhaust shop.

**UPDATE**

Damn it my measurement was off! Driveshaft was a little too long so now I gotta take it back to the shop and wait another day.
Image

On the bright side I notched back the shifter hole a bit for better clearance on the shifter since I don't have a 1 piece style "version 2" short shifter.
