Hi guys i was wondering if the sexy headlights from a 1998 240sx could be swaped into a 1996 240sx, with out any problems. I looked on the search and couldnt really find anything.

If anyone know that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

yes, yes you can. It should be on there, I think it's a popular change, try searching again under different words.

Well. . I've got 120k miles on mine, and are still crystal clear, and have never needed polishing.

Plus, they look a load nicer :D

nah I'm kiddin. . I don't prefer one over the other. . I think they're both swell.

Exactly :D Except the Japanese zenki headlights are not glass. . the euro 200sx are, however. . but you'd be wanting those anyway, as the Japanese headlights are made for RHD.

When I first saw the kouki's in the dealership, I was pissed at Nissan lol

my friend had a 96, and we drove into the dealer to look at some 98s. . (I never saw a 97 in our local dealership for some reason). . and I just remember being so pissed lol

Ya get a lot of looks in a kouki tho. . a lot of people don't know what it is. . and I get even MORE looks at night time.

How about reading what was posted BEFORE the reply I posted, then you'll understand.

ohhh I know what you're talking about, I forgive your ignorance. Japanese headlights are not glass, they're plastic (zenki). . but I was saying, if you want zenki headlights, you should avoid JDM, and opt for the e-code, as the JDM headlights are right hand drive (RHD) only. You can use them, but why would you, when you can get glass e-code lights with the proper LHD (that's 'left hand drive') beam pattern.

neither will be USDOT legal, but who cares? At least get e-code lights so you don't blind oncoming traffic.

Yea, thats what I want to know! I love my Zenki, but the headlights always turn that funky yellowish color. I have to scrub them senseless! Glass would be nice...Where can we obtain these?? PLUS, has anyone ever seen CLEAR zenki lights??? I have once, but I haven't since.

I'm surprised you didn't catch any of my post thru searching.

Anywho...the conversion does require you to hack up your headlight brackets and mod the headlight wiring for the low beams. But this is not hard chit and the conversion took me around 4 hours to do.

Here's a write-up I made..http://members.aol.com/GTspecR/write_convr.html

NOTE: I recently got 97/98 headlight brackets spot welded onto my car (body shop did this)...so now its easier to install the headlights. I will update my write-up with that information when I find some time. :p
