um..since when did stitch welding the chassis be for high hp applications. its mostly for the whole chassis rigidity/handling thing. definately not overkill.

I totally understand the purpose of stitch welding the chassis, but I was assuming the fact that is near stock in power production and suspension layout, it more than likely will not be loading the chassis up enough to warrant the 40+ (just a guess there) hours of work to stitch weld the chassis.

If it was a full on track beast, I would totally reccomend that kind of work, but I dobut the results will be worth the headache. It was merely my commentary.

yeah i see what your saying. i fully stitch welded my chassis front and rear and made a world of difference as it did with my 2 brother who are running stock ka's.

just looking at the chassis of my s13, it could really benefit from some stitch welding. it will be done one of these days, i just need to fork out the money for a welder first.

If I had the time and equipment, I would for sure do it. I was, as I said, just commenting. I totally agree the benefits of stitchwelding and caging a car are massive, but the outlay of cash (for equipment) and time can be equally large. My car is a street tuned daily driver, but once I gut it and make it into a track only car (over the next 10-12 months), I will for sure be going that route.
