I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY 89 HATCH SNAPPING BACK OR WHIPPING BACK WHEN I LIFT THE GAS. IT HAS KONI SHOCKS W GROUND CONTROL SPRINGS. ALSO HAS RSR BUSHINGS THROUGHOUT AND J30 VLSD. COULD ANY OF MY PARTS BE CUSING THIS, OR AM I JUST ***** THAT LETS OFF TOO MUCH. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY VERY GOOD DRIVERS THAT MY CAR WHIPS BACK TOO HARD. FEELS KINDA LIKE THE DIFF TO ME. ANY HELP WOUD BE APPRICIATED

please turn the caps lock off.

by lift the gas do u mean decelerate or accelerate?

if its decelerate then it is most likely your diff, make sure it is well oiled etc.

does it only occur when your going straight or on turns or all the time no matter what?

Threadjack.....How do you like those GC's? And what spring rates do you have for them? I love my Konis, but the Megan Racing springs I got.....eh, still a good amount of body roll, but just better over stock really.

Those GC's work very good for me. They are custom spring rates. I need to look to see exactly what the rates are I cant remember right now. My car has minimal body roll, but its not a cadillac if you know what I mean. I will get back to you on those spring rates.

My whipback issues occur when I let off the gas while drifting. if I want to transfer the car to the other direction, or if I simply want to straigten the car out. This gets worse with more speed. The car can be very unpredictable. I have felt the car want to pull to one side under hard acceleration. This is my first RWD car so I was not sure if that was normal or not. The car feels great through "grip" turns under light acceleration, and during the exit when you pin it. I have another J30 diff at home maybe I will give it a try.

Lift-off oversteer is partially caused by dampers allowing load to transfer forward too fast. Try increasing your front damping to see if it will go away.

you are probably lifting too soon and too much for such a soft setup and the diff is probably worn out and unlocking early(acting like an open diff rather than a lsd) as well.

Hey thanks for the reply. My front dampers do feel a little soft. I will try turning them up a bit.

Rear toe setting is at stock specs. My camber however is not correct since my car is lowered without any rear camber correction. My swaybars are stock.

OK when you lower a s13 the toe varys ALOT from the factory setting, i wouls bet it has a total of around 5-10mm total toe in.... evil especially for a green drifter. if it has hicas adjust it back to 0-2mm total toe. if not adjust it as far back to 0mm as you can.
