You can run those boost pressures on the stock KA, but I would not recommend it without some timing control. At least try for a BTM before you exceed the 10psi mark with that T28.
One of the biggest issues in using the T2 turbos on the KA is the restriction in exhaust flow. You'll find the reversion effects detrimental to the combustion event, resulting in high knock probability, regardless of AFR. Remember, the smaller the exhaust housing, the lower the engine's VE, regardless of boost pressure. As the boost pressure rises, the VE will also decrease on that small housing.
So, if the VE is ever-decreasing, what else is filling the cylinder and making the pressure? Hot air -and much of it is spent gases that couldn't evacuate the cylinder before the next cycle.
