hello, YES I DID SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you.

is in 2out 5 the right settings for a z32 maf on a ka24de stock ecu? Its been so long, quite sorry guys.i am about to install my s15 turbo and stock sr injectors on my ka(the sr kicked the bucket and i want tq) and need to get the safc doing its thing right.

does anyone else have this setup on the board??about what could i expect?? im thinking about 230ish on stock boost (8psi).I dont want to pop the ka just yet so i would like to know about how much boost the stock ka can take everyday(the engine is a 98 with 63k miles).thanks for all the help, and sorry for comming off as a noob. I just never did all my homework on the ka, and now it is kicking me in the ***

2 in, 5 out, start without about 25% reduction across the board.

Get to the dyno and tune up, or use a wideband if you have one.

Keep the hi throttle around 40% and the low throttle around 10% to avoid a funny stumble in transition.

You'll likely make around 210whp, 210-220wtq @ 8psi.

Stock KA can handle upwards of 350whp all day long with an appropriate tune.

cool, that is a great help. That is just what i thought it was going to be.I just need a refresher on that.so you think that i can safely run 12-15 psi on the oem ka??I know down the line i am going to add some Crower cams and either cp or wieseco pistons so i can really kick it up.

Thank you sir for your help.

You can run those boost pressures on the stock KA, but I would not recommend it without some timing control. At least try for a BTM before you exceed the 10psi mark with that T28.

One of the biggest issues in using the T2 turbos on the KA is the restriction in exhaust flow. You'll find the reversion effects detrimental to the combustion event, resulting in high knock probability, regardless of AFR. Remember, the smaller the exhaust housing, the lower the engine's VE, regardless of boost pressure. As the boost pressure rises, the VE will also decrease on that small housing.

So, if the VE is ever-decreasing, what else is filling the cylinder and making the pressure? Hot air -and much of it is spent gases that couldn't evacuate the cylinder before the next cycle.

good to know that. I know my way aroud the block but never thought of that on this project. I might be able to get a rom tuned ecu from a friend @ a local shop in tampa, to help in the timing issue. What should the base timing be(or should it remain 20*)?

If you don't use timing control, knock it back to about 15-17*.

If you use timing control, I'd run anywhere from 20-22*.

This is awfully weird... Just today I was installing a Z32 MAF on my S13 KA with 370s and a GT28R and I dialed into the SAFC "in 2" and "out 5", -25% over the board, and 10% LoT, 40% HiT. The idle was stumbling between 500 and 1200, and the car would turn off when I let go og the gas. So I played with the fuel settings, Dec. Air, NePoints, and it would still do the same thing.

Then I thought that maybe I copied the In/Out settings wrong, so I flipped them around, to "out 2" and "in 5" and it works like a charm!?!? What's going on?
