My car is actin funny and i want to rule out the tps.

i have this multimeter

sorry its blurry but from left to right the ones that i asusme i use are as followed: Off, VDC(~ on top of the dc), VAC(~), and ohms.

From what i've read you supose to have .05volts with the throttle closed when you probe pin 2 and 3. But i get no readings. Am i doing this correctly? I put the red on the middle of the tps and the black on #3? I"ve read the fsm and several other threads but no go. Maybe i'm putting the multimeter on the wrong settings?

also, could a leaky headgakset cause the idle the fluctuate?

Make sure the keys in the on position, iirc you'll need to look at the middle wire on the plug. Sould be around 0.5v when closed and 4.5v when open, alot of different things can cause idle fluctuation, including a bad headgasket. But if your hg is gone you'll have alot more problems then a bad idle.

Soundsa like you have a vaccum leak somewhere, check all the vaccum lines that connect to the intake manifold.
