But I didn't do it the way its described in the FAQ. It said to pull the coil and hookup a spark plug wire. I used the timing loop on the back of the harness and it worked. Its dead on at 15*BTDC. What is wrong with doing it this way?

the loop doubles the reading, check it by putting the inductive pickup onto the coilpack loom

Just went out and hooked up a spark plug wire to the #1 coil.... checked the timing--- Same reading. So I dont know about that whole double the reading thing.

Nothing, you should single out the trigger wire thou.

thats what that little loop is for, sometimes its just harder i think for some of the inductive pickups to fit in that little loop, but theres no problem with using that, because thats what it is there for. dont worry crad. i dont know where some of you guys get your info.

the loop for the win.i also use it wheni dynoed my car both times.
