Well you may have to have that done by a shop. I have been unable to reset my 01 I30 on my own so I had the code "officially" pulled at a local service shop and they reset it for me.

Thanks Mike.

Had air flow sensor replaced by a shop because of knocking and poor gas mileage and they resest sensor. Car was running better and light came back on after about 500 miles. Took it back to shop and they said it was a code on the O2 sensor and to not worry about unless car started running bad. Car is running ok, but the light will come on for a couple hundred miles then go off again. This has been going on for about 1000 miles.

If you do not replace the O2 sensor, then you are just asking for more expensive problems. When the O2 goes bad it tells the ECU to run rich as a precaution. This ends up passing raw fuel into the exhaust which will destroy your catalytic converter. I'd rather spend under $100 than have to replace the cat.

I bought my O2 sensors for my '01 maxima at oxygensensors.com. If you buy the kind that does not have the plug on it (you have to cut off the OEM plug and crimp it to the new sensor) they are less than $50 each. There are 2 before the cat and 2 after. I replaced the 2 before at the same time. About 10,000 miles later I had to replace a rear so I did them both. I should not need any O2 sensors for my max again. Anyway, I bought the O2 wrench kit and the first install cost me about $125. Second time about $100. The job is easy enough that you shouldn't have to pay someone to do it.

I was throwing a lean condition prior to having the MAF changed out. After that, the rear O2 sensor code triggered rich until the computer adjusted itself out, but that was only 2 days of driving. The same shop that did the MAF reset the O2 codes and we have been good ever since. Is your code for the front O2 sensors or the after cats?--Mike
