SES light for the first time!

Anyone willing to take a guess on what it could be?

I am hoping to get into a dealership by week's end. We shall see what the problem is!

EDIT: Around 38000 kms, 2 yrs old end of this April. Came on this morning if I am thinking clearly.

Is the light steady or blinking? If it is steady, then there is something wrong with the emmissions system. This could be caused by anything from a loose or missing gas cap, different fuel, or a minor engine issue. If it is blinking, then you have a misfire, which needs to be looked at. If it is the latter, then do not drive the car above 45 mph (70 km/h), avoid sudden acceleration, and avoid steep grades.

My light came on.. turned out to be the gas cap lol What I did to avoid the hour or two wait at the dealership was stopped by an AutoZone. They pulled the code had it reset and adjusted the gas cap. Problem solved and it didn't take anything more than a few minutes.

Well aidan80, you and I had the same issue. I felt really stupid that day after I found out that the gas cap was my only problem!

+1 ... only my engine light came on and I drove over an hour to the dealership I bought the Camel from to have it checked out... felt like a total tard.

I would think Gas Cap too ...

I have 31K and 2 years yesterday. No light yet.
