so i posted a thread a few days ago stating i had a few codes on. TODAY i went to a service spot and told them what was wrong and instead of them saying we will change the knock and o2 sensor they said i have a bad miss and to just preform a full system tune up. My question is with the TUNE up will this take away my SES light since my INSPECTION is up in march.

Many things can cause a bad O2 or knock sensor (just do a search for P0325 here and you'll see), it's quite difficult to be certain. You also don't know what a "full system tune up" entails. And what do they mean by a "bad miss"? A cylinder misfiring? You're not misfiring if you don't throw a misfire code and don't feel excessive vibration and significantly reduced performance from the engine.

If your inspection is coming up and it's absolutely time-critical I'd eat the cost of the O2 & knock sensor from Courtesy Parts and change the O2 sensor yourself. I don't know how difficult it is to change the knock sensor, you may need Nissan or a shop to do so. But let someone else chime in with some more insight before going with that idea.

If i recall correctly, the knock sensor replacement takes about 3 hours at Nissan. Rather annoying to get at.

I had a knock sensor code once and it turned out to be something else throwing it. Might do some exploring on the site with the search function and see if you can find other things that would cause that code...Turned out to be a lot cheaper to fix than a knock sensor.

If I went to a Service Shop, and they told me to "just perform a full system tune up", I'd be running, and not walking, the hell out of there.
If you give them the go ahead for this, you'll pay through the nose, and then some.
The "tune up" is nothing more than a license to print money....for the shop.
Start by finding someone else.
Good luck.
