Can someone please explain to me what this noise is?

I hear it quite frequently, usually when at low speed or right after coming to a stop and putting it in Park...or as shown in this video, right after I turn the car off.

Everything is running fine on the car, and this has been around for a while, I am just curious to know what to make of it and whether it is something I should be concerned about. TYIA.

I'm not sure if the 01 i30s came with the liquid filled motor mounts but that definitely sounds like it could be the issue. If you get under the car, take a look at the motor mounts and see if there are wires running to them as that's a dead giveaway.

If confirmed, it's possible that the electronic engine mount is on the way out. Be careful, a shorted motor mount can kill the ECU (power transistors for the motor mount stepper motors are inside the ECU).

Liquid filled, electronically controlled motor mounts? If I knew you guys weren't messing with me, I'd think you were messing with me!! I guess I can understand the liquid filled part, but where, out of curiosity, does the electric part fit into all this? I've never heard of such a thing.

In any event, I will get under there and have look. If it were the mounts, what kind of issue might I be dealing with here if they are in fact going out (ECU aside if they were to short)?

I kind of suspected perhaps it had something to do with the transmission since it always seems to happen (primarily) when I shift into/out of drive...but if the mounts are meant to compensate for something upon shifting I suppose it would make sense.
