Crazy, It's like 200 pages! It would take like 3 days of solid scanning. The owners manual took 2 hours to scan and a full hour to post.

Victor, I'm with you! I'm thinking of hiring someone to do my scanning, I've got other things I'd like to do. Thank you for posting your owners manual! Ken

I sure could use a vac line diagram. I bought a 69 521 that has had a 1600cc 510 motor and five speed put in it. needless to say they did not complete the job. I suppose at 800.00 for two strait trucks with good title I should not complane.

do you need the air injection system as well or does yours not have it installed? (you never know, so I had to ask) this is the simplest of all:

I've mentioned it in another thread on here, but this looks like the place to put it.

I already have the 521 FSM Chassis/body scanned to .pdf along with the L16/L18 engine manual.   I tried like heck to get the parts manual as well, but I went to $200 on it and still got out bid.  So far, there's been no indication that the buyer is going to make it available to the rest of us.

Yes, I'm going to sell the CD's($25 shipped) and I'm hoping to add a couple more manuals to it.  I have the 200sx manual, so I'm going to add the dogleg transmission section.  I have another parts manual coming, but I have no clue what info it has or if it will be worth adding it.

Ken....the response I got was that I can get your 320 man scanned for you if you are willing to let us add it to the CD.....oh...the other thing is that the binding has to be cut off.  I'll punch it for a 3 ring binder and send it back in a binder.  It won't up the price of the CD any, just make more info available.  You'll get a copy of the file that you can then put up on your site.  Most likely, I'll just send you a copy of the CD...but I'll ask that you not put it all up until after I sold enough CD's to recoupe my cost.   I'm targeting the 521's since that's my particular interest....so if someone only wants the 320, they could come here and get if free....if that's your intention.

If anyone has the factory parts manuals for the 521 or 320 and is willing to let the binding be cut and basically do the same deal as I just described....please get in touch with me.

This is only for the factory manuals!  I will not be doing any Clymers/haynes or anything else like that.   I will not be doing anything with the 510's either....CD's with all that info are already available.

So.....if you don't mind investing about $25 for the info, I'd recommend holding off on trying to get your manuals scanned....the body/chassis manual will run about $250-300 if you can find a place to do it.

If all goes well and I manage to get most/all of my money back, my intentions are to try to make all of it available for free.   I figure a bunch of people will still want an original which they can try to find on ebay and pay whatever for them.  The guys that just need the info to keep these rigs running are only going to be able to afford or at least only want to pay about $25 for the info.

Geez I get long winded!!!  Sorry! :)

Thanks for being long winded there Mike!

You can count on my purchase of the cd! I will keep any eye out for the parts manual...you know the next time it will go for a lot less than what it did this last time! I don't suppose you had a better copy of the needed hose diagram?

Okay.....the last info I sent out was about the manuals becoming available on a cd for about $20. I'd like to thank those that showed their support and emailed me about wanting to purchase a copy. There's been a slight change of plans......

The manuals will be free for download right from the start!!!!!

I ended up in contact with Unkle, the guy that out bid me on the 521 parts manual. There were some negotiations about my purchasing a copy of the manual to put on the cd. Unkle is one heck of a Datsun guy!!!!! Just when I thought that it was not going to happen, I got a PM from him that basically said he was sending the already scanned manual to me for free! I quote him... "I don't feel money should get in the way of this good idea."    Understand that he paid over $200 to get this manual and he's sharing it with all of us for free!!! So the least I could do was to make all of my manuals available for free as well!

I'd like to thank Ken Bagby(actually his screenname) too. He sent me all the 320 manuals at no cost, as well! He's got an awesome forum at http://www.olddatsunpickuplovers.com   I'm sure you 320 guys already know about it! I know he plans on hosting the 320 manuals on his site and you can find a link there to the others as well.

I'd also like to thank Bre620...owner of "the620.com" website. He had the connections to get my manuals scanned for me and he will be hosting them as well. He's already got them listed on the Tech page, but it's still going to be a couple of days before he has time to actually upload them. They are all scanned and that's all that is left to do.....just upload them. I believe he is going to have to upgrade servers because of this, so he's going to be incurring an on going cost because of this.

So.....without further delay..... check the Tech page at...   www.the620.com

I've made this announcement a bit early, so give him a couple of days to get them up.....just know that they will be up soon!!!

Thanks everyone!!

Mitch, David has all that stuff on his web page check the Tech page at...   http://www.the620.com In return for him scanning the manuals and making them available for free, we agreed not to post his other manuals. This project was initiated by Mike Klontz one of our members. They really did a bang up job on the scanning. So far every file I have opened is a very clean scan and easy to read. Be warned though, some of the files are very large. This project is going to ruin those guys selling cd's on ebay for $5-15 (some of them aren't even the right diagrams for the vehicles they say they are for).  Anyway, I am greatful to Mike and David for all the work they put into this and have adopted David's site as a sister site for our board. I do have copies of everything so if something goes wrong on his site we can recover the information for our members. When we get a chance Paul and I will try to reconfigure the board so that members will have one "Manuals" section with the link to the 620 site.

At this point I can honestly say that at least one of my goals for starting this board has been accomplished, and that was to provide an easier source of information for members. I'm so glad two members stepped up and took the challenge. Well done Mike and David!:dude:

goto the 620 Tech page at www.the620.com and find the 521 manual.  Check that and see how close it is.  The 320 manual should have your eng/trans if the 521 manual doesn't.

All of the uploads are done and available at this time.

I guess if I had waited just one more minute! :)

Thanks Ken.   Big thanks to you too for sending us your 320 manuals.  Maybe one of these days, we'll come up with an original of the 320 manual.  Since I had to make a copy of your copy, some of the pics came out pretty dark.  If you come across any in the .pdf file that are too bad, maybe you can make a better scan of the individual pic someone needs.....then start a thread with just those pics.  I haven't looked to closely at the .pdf file, so I don't know if there's any pics that are unuseable.  Not sure that made sense :)

There are plans to add a couple of 620 manuals, but that's about it at this time.

Anyway.....hope they help!
