If so few Q's were built in the '03-'05 years doesn't that mean that a few years out finding a well trained Infiniti Tech to figure out what's going on with this car with be almost impossible.I live in the San Francisco/Silicon valley area and in the last 5 years, I have only seen maybe 10 of the '02-'05 Qs on the road. Some of the Infiniti ddealers never have a used Q on their lot.

Asking this because I'm deciding between a '05 Q and a '03-'04 LS430.Even getting a 2001 BMW 740 ($10K less) I would at least be finding (and needing)someone who's experienced with the car.

Any way to find out service history on used Q's for sale without goig through Infiniti Service mgrs?

i wouldnt be too concerned.. first they are still pretty new, so dealerships should still be familiar..

Also, the M45 is a similar car so much of it would be the same. At the end of the day, for basic wrench turning most ASE mechanics can do the work, but for diagnostic work for problems is where you need someone who knows the cars.

Not unless you know the previous owners. Why there is a whole thread on social engineering and rewarding service providers.

As far as service history, you can ask the person selling you the car to provide it. Even if it's some other type of car dealer, they can get it from any Infiniti dealership.

I am a Nissan man, love Infiniti's and overall lean towards them. but i have to say unless your getting about 50% discount on the Q or plan to keep it for 10 years, go for an LS. There is no resale value on the Q unfortunately but you get alot of good car for a good price. The LS is boring, but it is well built and will hold its value like crazy.

With so few 02-06Q sold in the USA,it will be next to impossible to obtain used parts from donor cars 5-15 years down the road, leaving the dealer the only option for really expensive electronic part failures{nav, electronic instrument cluster, integrated audio, laser cruise, computer modules,LAN systems,etc}-that is if they are even still available due to the low demand due to no volume sales.....a huge nightmare possibly

I think 02-04 Q are close enough, and there were a decent amount on 02-04 made. THe 05/06 are what is to be of concern.

qship96 brings up a great point.. One of the nice things about G50s is the idiot owners who trash the cars, which means parts are plentiful. With more and more electronics, used parts are going to be key because theyre rape at the dealer.

I agree with badQ45t as well... Qs are the kind of car you buy for dirt and flip (or try), or keep forever.
