I am looking for a excellent service manual for my Q and have been frustrated by the choices I have found in the auto parts megastores. Does anyone know of where I could find a good manual I can purchase for my Q? Something along the lines of a Robert Bentley shop manual?

I have the owner's service manual, although it is informative it is not made for guys without a ton of Infiniti special tools at their disposal imho.

Just beware of any on CD, as they are not factory. Printed books only for the 92s.

You're talking about the factory service manual in the trunk? If so that's the best I've found. Most diagnostic procedures show a "With Consult" and "Without Consult" method for everything. Most of the other tools are specialized because they need to be - but for the average DIY jobs that most of us do there aren't many specialized tools required... I've joked that you can repair most anything on a Nissan with a pair of plyers, phillips head screw driver and a 10mm wrench.

It's a thick read for sure, it won't give you the answers but it will provide you the correct method for checking & replacing stuff, when necessary, to avoid "throwing parts at a problem"

Saves in the long run with a nominal up front investment & only one of your time afterwards.

FWIW, I enjoy taking time to read about certain systems even if I'm not in trouble at the moment.

The more you know about this car, the more you realize how under appreciated it was at it's release.

Isn't that the fate of all true genius?

Thanks guys .... looks like Haynes is it then for aftermarket manuals. Seems Mitchell had one that covered all Infinitis 90-94, but that one is no longer in publication. I talked to Nissan Publications and the only one they have on file is the user service manual that came with the car for $75. I have that ... guess it is time to catch up on my "leisure" reading at night. I am sure better than counting sheep .....

For $500 per week [you pay and release us] we can let you hang around[hand them tools and rags] and watch the techs work on Q45. It drives them crazy to be watched but they'll get over it.......for enough moolla.

Wow, Infininti Summer Camp at T-3! How can us wannabe wrenchheads refuse? Even has the Microtel luxury suites next door.

Better than even major league baseball camp, in my opinion.

I have manuals, email me

However, most Q came with the FSM in the trunk. Look in the spare tire area, it should be there!

Have you taken on the marketing for Microtel in the Atlanta area? :D

If you include a couple of those black T3 t-shirts in the deal I might come down for "summer camp." I think Byron was ready to throw me out after two days though... it could be hazzardous to my health.

Thanks E, I appreciate that .... I have the FSM from the trunk though. Still, I appreciate the offer.

Some cars you can buy either repros of the dealer service guides, Mitchell shop manuals, or a Robert Bentley manual ... they are much more detailed and with most Mitchells and the Bentleys step by step photos are included ... Bentley will also show you how to cheaply replicate or manufacture the manf required special tools needed to do some work.

this pic is from a RB on removing the CV from a Saab 900 ...

I owned an 88 Saab SPG a few years back ... and RB saved me a ton of cash bro .... as I am getting ready to go through this Q, I could really use one of these for her.
