Does anyone besides Nissan sell a service manual for an '09 Versa? It does not look like there are Cliltons or Haynes manuals out yet. I saw a website where one could be downloaded, but the one review for it gave it one star (of five).

I couldn't get the one at PDFtown to work.

Found it here though:

http://netfree1.blogspot.com/2....html

Click "download" at the bottom left.

Then download the .RAR (winzip) file to your desktop or to a folder where you can easily find it.

Then open with winzip. The easiest way to do this is right click and then choose to "extract all" or "Winzip->Extract Here", depending on what version of windows you're using.

If you don't have WinZip or your trial has run out or whatever, go here:

http://download.cnet.com/WinRA...mncol

Download and install.

Go back to the .rar file and it should have a different icon. Right click the icon and then choose to "extract all" or "extract here" and....

Voila... there are the PDFs

Now you can organize them however you want.

Hope this helps. I apologize if it was too wordy.

DOOM ...missed your link to the service manual when I originally read your message. Downloaded it today. Thanks!

The link from casio is for the 2007 Manual.

The page from DOOM is a long series of files which appear to be from a manual but the FWD.pdf file is missing/damaged so I can't verify that it is for the 2009 Versa.

Does anyone know if there have been substantial changes from 2007 to 2009?or where to download the 2009 Technical Manual? (I've had no luck getting anything from pdftown to ever work.)

Still looking . . . BTW, with my previous car I just ordered one from the Dealer. My current Dealer claims that no such manual exists . . .

I did not think the dealer would hand over something like a technical manual to a customer.

Well I had to pay them for it . . . but they gave me no trouble about ordering one for me.The introduction says it's "intended for use by service technicians" but then adds "This manual can be also useful for [] owners in diagnosing certain problems and performing some repair and maintenance on [] vehicles."Indeed that is what I used it for . . . to diagnose problems and to make minor repairs. We're not talking top secret classified information here . . .

true but if they give you the resource to help you fix something which they could charge you for when you brought it in for repairs. you know what I mean?

Use the 2008 FWD.PDF file instead of the 2009 FWD.PDF and the 2009 manual will open up.

I have had no luck finding a working 2009 FWD.PDF. If you do let me know. I am hoping that they will be available early Spring when the 2010 manuals start appearing.

Just FYI everyone, the back of the Owner's Manual actually recommends getting the service manual and sends you to:http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/

Save your time . . . they want $345 for a paper copy and $210 for a CDROM. Also found the CD on ebay for under $20.

But the link provided above ( http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/versa/2009_Versa/ ) combined with Francesco's hint about the fwd.pdf file provides what I was looking for . . .

Thanks everyone!

You can order them, they are just very expensive. I looked into buying a paper copy for my Maxima but $300+ was too hard to justify. The original Q45 actually came with a smaller (but full content) edition of the service manual in a nice case. Mine's full of bookmarks and sticky notes.

Personally, I think auto manufacturers should be REQUIRED to release that sort of information to all owners on request for free.

I totally agree . . . especially when the Owner's Manual says "A genuine NISSAN Service Manual is the best source of service and repair information for your vehicle." . . .and I'm sure when I bought the one for my Mazda in '88 it only cost me $25-50. (The only other car I've ever owned.) So not sure if the high cost is a Nissan thing or more general inflation . . .

That said, see the above links for free downloads of what looks to me like a pretty complete Service Manual. The nice thing about the pdf version is you can zoom in on the diagrams . . . my old eyes need that
