Service Enginge Light

So my "service engine soon" light came on yesterday ('01 Qx4 90,000KM) while driving back from a weekend trip. I had the cruise control set on the highway and looked down to notice the light had come on. I drove it home, then I had to go out again last night, all the while the car's been driving fine. I started it up today, went to the store, and when I started it to leave the store, the light didn't come on. I then drove to the gas station to fill up, then home and the light never came back on. My question is: I'm going away on Monday afternoon. Do I need to have the car looked at before I go? Its just going to sit for two weeks. Also, isn't the light supposed to stay on until it gets cleared? Any help would be much appreciated!!!

In my opinion I wouldn't worry about it too much. My 99.5 QX4 did the same thing, the light came on so i scanned it and it said i needed an 02 sensor...but when i brought it to the dealer they said it didn't need one. The light didn't come on for a while after that but when it did come back on it stayed for a while then went away. It does that to me every once and a while but i don't worry about it too much. I dunno maybe i should but since nobody said anything yet i figured i'd try to help ya out as much as i could.

its probably a pissed of sensor, if it comes on and stays on just go get the codes checked at autozone.
