My Service Engine Soon Light light came on about a week ago on my 2003 M45. I disconnected the battery and it is still on. I tightened the gas cap no luck. the car seems to run fine. No problem with gas mileage either. Anybody have any suggestions of what it might be?

Go to Autozone and they will provide a free OBD-II code reader rental (you need to leave a deposit for the unit) that you can use to check out the cause.

Best action: go to the Infiniti dealer and see what is the cause and fix it asap. I'd be careful not to let this go on for long ...

Might want to check this out.

If it turns out to be the problem then the dealer should fix it for free.

Seriously have it looked at before something worse happens. Just because you do not notice a difference in anything does not mean their isn't a problem.

Why one visits [oil changes] the dealer [or properly trained experienced on your model independent shop] so that they can test and find problems that can be charged to [or refer you to dealer] Nissan Warranty to repair.

Every post 1995 owner should have their own inexpensive code reader and FSM so they can evaluate the urgency of repair!

There are HUNDREDS of codes some minor some major nice to know the ranking when the MIL light comes on.
