Ok, here is my 2nd post on this site.

So I go over 70K (warranty expires) and the very next time I start my car, it doesn't start on the first hit. So I turn the key off and start the car again, and it starts fine, but with the service engine soon lamp being lit. Seems a bit ironic that on the same day my warranty expires, this happens. But oh well.

How do I determine what is causing that lamp to light other than taking to a dealer and paying them the premium for their knowledge.

Thanks in advance.

Tom

take it to autozone and they'll scan the codes for freel, then you can post it up and let us know what the results are.

The light went out on it's own on my drive home today

Oh well. I guess I'll wait for it to come back on.

With all that technology, couldn't they have put something in the display that you could read the code? Good Lord, my 83 Thunderbird would flash the code if you did some funky thing with the key. Oh well.

Just use a scanner. The code is sotred. It's an early warning.
