Got new OE plugs from Joey (NGK PFR6G-11s) for the '98 Q45t. I put them in today and now the "Service Engine Soon" light is on. Does anyone have an idea as to why?

Check all the connectors, make sure they are re-connected properly. Disconn battery, wait 10-15 min. If there is not faults MIL will not be there!Cheers!

Thanks Far! I had neglected to re-connect the wire fitting (air temp sensor?) that is attached to the air intake cowling and drove 4 miles or so before I remembered it. I stopped and re-connected it but the "service engine" light remained on. After disconnecting the battery for 15 min., as you suggested, the light is off! I really appreciate the help as I have read numerous posts relating to the mysteries of diagnosing "Service Engine Soon" problems and felt close to the onset of SES panic disorder. Seems like there ought to be some sort of support group for those tortured souls.
