service engine soon light and error code (pls read)...

service engine soon light came on while driving. went to autozone, got the code:

p1283

is this o2 sensor? also i read there was an october 2004 tsb about this code for my car:

OCTOBER 2004 Engine Controls - MIL ON/DTC`s P1273/P1283/P1274/P1284

any thoughts on course of action? anyone else had this code, is it covered by warranty? fyi i have never touched the intake or messed with the o2 sensors.

If you read that bulletin you will notice that it only advises the technician to reset the self learning memory. There is no actual repair listed. You probably have a slow or un responsive AF ratio sensor. The switching ratio of the AF sensors is in the millivolt range when operating correctly and diagnosis is not really a DIY, the best you can probably do is guess at it.

Take it in if you have warranty and maybe even if not, having it properly diagnosed the first time might save your cats and engine from any potential damage by running in an altered timing and fuel map.
