“service engine soon” indicator going on without good reason

Hello everybody,My name is Alex and i have a 2002 infiniti I35.

It’s a great car and mine has 75k miles on it.

Lately I have an indicator of “service engine soon” is lighting up, it was doing it before regardless mileage due for service, at the garage they couldn’t say what it is without $150 just to check it.

The warning light was lightening before and then going off for long periods of time.

Any idea or how severe it is?

Most parts store chains will check your codes for free.

Yup, take it to an autozone or something and have them pull the code, and then let us know what the code is
