Service Engine light went on 15 hours after my fuel pump replaced (TSB)

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Ok. I dropped my car for service yesterday for "Fuel Pump humming" noise on startup. This morning, while driving, I abruptly turn my turn signal and change lanes, the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" warning came out. I remember clicking the fuel cap more than 3 times when I went to the gas station yesterday. I have to bring the car in tomorrow morning for them to check. Anyone had the same problem like this?

check if you're leaking fuel...

I'm just extrapolating here, but if the fuel pump was installed incorrectly/sealed properly it may have the same effect as leaving the gas cap off.

I have not had the same problem but will be taking my EX in for the fuel pump issue shortly

It sounds like you will have an EVAP large or gross leak DTC. I would wager a guess to say that the seal on the rim of the fuel tank is slightly off center. It is pretty tricky to line it up correctly and secure it without moving the seal. I would call the service department and speak with your advisor and they will probably have you come in to have it looked at and taken care of. I would not stress it too much just schedule a loaner and you should be alright. Good Luck.

So I dropped the car last Saturday morning and waited for 1.5 hours. The Master tech is still puzzled with the problem so I decided to get a loaner since I brought my family with me and we had to go to Chicago for the weekend.I`ll hear from the service adviser on Monday if they have fixed it or not.

BTW, I got an EX35 loaner this time and could not believe my eyes what kind of

SILVER exterior is this. At first I thought it`s a gold champagne exterior, but when I arrived in CHICAGO I noticed the loaner key tag and says SILVER.It`s a SCARLET SILVER it is! I still like the Platinum exterior color of my car.I missed my Graphy!

Found out that the replacement fuel pump was bad.

Now new parts came in and installed. Problem solved!
