Now is the service engine light suppose to come on every 3,000 miles to remind the owner get a oil change done??

No. Take it back to your dealer/or any Nissan dealer. They will hook up the car to their diagnostic computer to see what error code has been stored on the car's computer. From there, they should know what is wrong with the car.

Ok thanks, thought it would be coming on other than the gas cap not on correctly.
