From what I remember via other threads, if the VDC, slip and SES light comes on at the same time then you may need new brake pads....

Can anyone confirm?

Hey there and Welcome,

I would be willing to bet that you have a DTC stored for a throttle position sensor or motor circuit. Since the delayed cranking time and VDC lights (it's all CAN connected). If you have a warranty take it to the dealer and have it looked at.

So, no truth in the "VDC + Slip + SES" lights being a brake pad indicator? Just wanna make sure I have the facts.

No you are right.

The VDC lights as well as the brake and slip light will illuminate when any sensor failure in ABS system is detected this will put the VDC in failsafe mode tripping the lights. There are a number of reasons this will come on the most common does happen to be low brake pads.

The throttle motor will also cause this as it is a key input to the ABS control unit as well as the ECM. If a circuit issue was detected where current throttle position or accelerator pedal position could not be verified that would cause this concern.

In any case without seeing the code list an accurate diagnosis is not possible.
