I recently got a new audio system installed on my 04 coupe:head unit4 speakersampsubwoofers

and after i took it home from the shop my service engine light came on.i looked at the navi and it said there might be a problem with my fuel emission sensor.

could the light have come on because my system is drawing too much power from the battery??

if so why would it say a problem with my fuel emission sensor?

because i got the system im broke so im a little hesitant to take it into the dealer.

please help with any good knowledge or opinions. thanks

Even if you fixed the problem the light wont go out until you reset it. I don't know how to reset it on these new cars tho. On my old SE-R you just unplug the battery for 30 mins.

Actually, I had this problem (07 G35x) - Check engine light came on. I pulled over and tightened the gas cap (it actually wasn't tightened down fully), then after driving for another 20-30 minutes, the light went out. They say it can take up to 3 cold starts for the light to go out, but it should go out on its own, unless it wasn't the gas cap, and is indeed another problem.
