Service engine failure?

Due to 02 sensor issues I've been driving around for a month with my check engine light on (first one sensor and now another).While waiting for my sensor to show up in the mail, I'm driving to work and the Service Engine Soon light GOES OFF by itelf. Black. no light.Either a) there is some feature that will turn this thing off after so long orb) the bulb finally blew

If the bulb blows does it throw an error code?? (j/k)Seriously, does this mean it's the bulb or does it re-set after so long?

When starting your car, turn the key so that the warning lights come on, but the starter doesn't engage. The SES light should light up. If it doesn't, the bulb is toast.

Well, it's not the bulb. Indicator light comes on with ignition, but then acts like there was never a problem. IT HEALED ITSELF??

Go ahead and pull the code, it will be stored unless the battery is disconnected. Best just to see what it was. A bad front O2 can come and go. Mine came on a couple of months ago, but hasn't come back. Bad batch of gas maybe?

I know that on my 2000 maxima that if it throws a code and after awhile the problem does not persist, and its not a major critical problem it will clear the ses. When i had ignition coil issues and a misfire, the sel light came on and after i replaced the coils a few weeks the light went off.

When I performed the transmission disconnect "mod" (or whatever you call it) for racing, the SES was cleared the next day.
