Hi, I just went in for my 15k mile work this saturday.... and after 3 days, my car started displaying the "service due now" light every time I start the car. I have 17k miles on the car and this is my first time ever seeing this alert. And why would it come on days after getting the oil change and everything else that is suppose to me included in the 15k checkup?

I did have the recall work down as well.....and the 15k stuff as well as the recall was done within 3 hours! when the recall alone should have taken 3 hours......is it possible they didn't really do the 15k checkup??? they charged me 300 for this checkup! I noticed that all the wiper blades werent changed.....and that was suppose to be included in the 15k mile work.

anyone else have this problem?

The service due indicator can be reset. Read your manual!

The service due light comes on for a reason. I don't know what world you live in, but for me, if I see warning lights, I dont just clear them, I check to see if they are valid first. I guess when your fire detector goes off in your house with your family, you just go and "reset it" and go back to bed without even checking it out first.

That is fine for you, but not for me! Feel free to ignore my posts, if the only insight you have is to read a book.

Thanks!

rayjgold,

You misunderstand me.

The 2011-2012 Rogue has a "Service Due" indicator on the LCD display (between the tach and speedo). It's just a reminder and is triggered when you reach a certain mileage interval. It does not indicate there is a problem with your vehicle. You can reset it by scrolling through the options on the display which is described in your owners manual.

Now, a 'Check Engine' or "Service Engine' warning is completely different. This requires immediate attention and you should call your dealership for an appointment.

Hopefully that clears things up. Cheers! :)

I agre with Philip, if you're concerned that the maintenance that you paid for was not performed I'd suggest giving your service manager a call to discuss. Likely they just forgot to clear the maintenance minder before returning your car to you. But you never know, if they forgot to do this, what else did they forget? Most likely all is well and a quick reset of the system is all that is required.

Sometimes the Dealer or Where ever you go forget to reset the Service due reminder alarm.
Simple to reset. just go to settings in the cluster LCD screen and I THINK its under Maintenance.

It's easy to be fierce on the internet. The fact of the matter is that of 3000 topics on this board, Philip will have offered his expertise on 2900(?)

Apples and oranges, as indicated above. The service light is triggered by mileage -- not comparable at all to a fire detector or a CEL which is what you're probably thinking of.

Read up (as suggested and to "see if it is valid" as you say yourself) before biting back.

Asking here won't help. You need to confirm what was or wasn't done with the dealer. We have no idea and no way to verify for you.
