I must be lucky! Since I bought our Versa S a year ago, I constantly receive mail and phone surveys about the car and dealer satisfaction. I have decided the following may be a better approach to "influencing" Nissan. By answering them, the information goes to both manufacturer and dealer. If they hear the same thing often enough in print, maybe Nissan will correct some customer irritants. I sent the following survey "Other Comments" response to a scheduled oil change and to answer my question to the service department - When will an add-on cruise control be available for the 2007 Versa S?
I am unhappy that Nissan does not make available a cruise control retrofit for the Versa S. It appears most of the hardware is in-place and the missing parts are available in the Versa parts catalog. This complaint shows up frequently on the Versa owner's forum. I don't understand why a service department would forego additional revenue for a reasonably priced add-on and let the price of the cruise control installation go to someone else.
PS - I was told to go see an after market distributor for the cruise control. My last cruise control add-on was a Mazda dealer installation to a Protege costing just a few hundred dollars for the missing parts including labor. Go figure.
